The CARR® ViaFuge® range of separation systems is designed for cell harvest and supernatant recovery on any scale. Capable of separating a wide variety of mammalian and insect cells with little or no damage, the ViaFuge® offers intact cell recovery efficiencies in excess of 99% with negligible cell concentrations in clarified supernatant. Two systems are available - ViaFuge® - Pilot and ViaFuge® V12
Benefits
- Gentle recovery with minimal cell damage, providing up to 93% reduction in downstream process filtration requirements
- Unique SoftStream® low-shear design in which feed is matched to bowl's rotational velocity, allowing fast, efficient harvest of even the most shear-sensitive cells without damage
- Feed rates from 0.1 - 40 L/min*
- Cells concentration by a factor of 30 for the Pilot and 20 for the V12 production-scale centrifuge*
- Closed system design, allowing recovery of concentrated cells and supernatant without breaking containment
- Fully automated CIP/SIP option available on V12 provides validatable cleaning and sterilization without disassembly of the centrifuge
- Seamless integration into automated processes
*Actual process conditions are dependent on the characteristics of the fluid, amount and type of solids and required degree of clarification.
Small Particles - bacteria, yeast, large sub-cellular components & plasma proteins
